What's In It For Me

Deepen your knowledge and passion for the game by understanding Pickleball rules beyond that of a player. Play your part in ensuring fair play and sportsmanship, helping others understand and respect the rules. Feel the sense of pride in facilitating a “good, clean match”. Start on your refereeing pathway and be part of a growing community and make a positive impact on the Pickleball experience for players at all levels.

Course Overview

Competitions is one of the main pillars of Sports Development, directly supporting and promoting the growth in interest and participation. As a sport gets more and more widespread, the expectation on the quality of officiating will naturally rise. A player may enter the court only knowing the essential rules of the game, but the same cannot be expected of a Referee. Knowing that Referees are integral and instrumental in the development and effective progression of any sport, this Level 1 course aims to equip Certified Referees with the necessary knowledge, confidence and practical opportunities to start their refereeing pathway.

At the end of this module, you will be able to:

● Understand the Scoresheet as a tool to assist the Referee in a match

● Particular adaptions to local tournaments
